Hi Dave,I'm not sure what you're after, but I have bought a few plans from https://toymakingplans.com/shop-all-toy-plans/ .They come as downloadable pdf files and cover everything you need to know to build them. They have toys for smaller kids and adults. I especially like the "Hot Rod Freaky Fords" as they are fairly quick to make and usually disappear first at my church's annual bazaar to raise money to send kids to summer camp. Most of what I make is aimed at preschool kids. Older than that they seem to expect touch pads on their toys 8-)
If you are a woodturner I have some free templates (pdf's) for making cars by turning a 2-by-4 and then cutting it down the middle to create two bodys. I do a little enhancing with a bandsaw or scrollsaw. Here is an example of one of the resulting cars. Two to four year olds love these cars and they are pretty indestructible.

Resurrecting this for a different purpose.  Many years ago I bought some pretty simple yet dang cleaver wooden toys from a fellow that I am sure has long since passed on to the great beyond.  His toys were for older kids, a logging truck, 2 different fire engines, a crayon truck, and I don’t remember what else he offered.  It has always been in the back of my mind to tackle building trucks when I retire.  I now have an idea to put together a small group of guys to build toys for a local event that helps people at Christmas.  One of the most popular toys are the wooden ones and the last few years the makers of the wooden toys have fallen off.  So I am hoping to fill at least part of that gap.    I have some ideas on what I would like to do but I need guidance in the form of pictures, and or plans.  I have poked around a bit on the internet for plans and have found some interesting ones.  But I feel like I have only touched on what might be out there and my search criteria is not hitting the motherload.  Can anyone share some pictures and or plans or maybe point me towards that mother load of plansJ  I am not opposed to paying for the plans if I can get what I am after.  Thanks2Dave  From: Woodworkers On Behalf Of Royce Killion via Woodworkers

Subject: Re: [Woodworkers] Toys for Hospitals Here are a couple of links that should help. I have also seen a widget that toy pieces can be tested with to see if they are a choking hazard or not.https://www.compliancegate.com/toy-safety-standards-united-states/https://www.cpsc.gov/FAQ/Toy-Safety Royce On 1/3/2023 10:55 AM, Doug Pauls via Woodworkers wrote:
Good morning all, Happy New Year.  Our local woodworking guild makes toys for kids at the local hospitals that go home with the child.  They have a number of toys and plans they already have, but I would like to expand the possibilities.  Do any of you know of lists generated by medical personnel or medical institutions on guidelines for such toys?  I would have to assume non-toxic finishes, but other things like no smaller than X (choking hazard), things like that?
