Hi John,

If you have automatic backup and you don't have a powerful computer, than
that's fine. A lot of computers today have a 750W power supply, and I never
see any with less than 500W. 375VA is approximately 250W (just guessing, no
math).

I'm willing to bet that if your computer was cranking away on a hard
calculation when the power went out, your computer would go down as well.

Obviously if you have a laptop you don't need a UPS, unless you are using
it for your monitor.

One other benefit if you have a better UPS is that it will also monitor for
under AND over voltage conditions and regulate to the correct AC voltage.
Oh, and you generally get a sine wave inverter with the bigger units
instead of the sine wave approximation inverter.
