[Woodworkers] Lathe Standards

I just picked up a vintage Ohio Forge lathe off Craigs List. It has a #1
Morse Taper fitting for both the drive and tail ends. After some searching
I found a company that was still selling #1 Morse Taper fittings. Most
suppliers have moved to the #2 which is 1 inch vs 3/4 inches.

Other than a good cleaning my only other repair item was a change out the
bearing set on my drive unit which was a low speed sealed standard size and
readily available.

My unit is 30+ years old and belt driven. I know that Ohio Forge is not a
higher end unit, but it came with a stand, 4 chisels, and a threaded head,
a long and short tool rest and a couple of centers for $50. I later bought
a set of 8 Craftsman Professional lathe chisels on Ebay for $56 plus
shipping in the original case. It is not a Cadillac but I have enjoyed
the learning experience to date.
