[Woodworkers] router table

Hi Bill, I don’t wanna be negative here but Woodsmith magazine are not what I would call “experts” if you have ever seen the show, well, it’s almost painful to watch. You might want to check out Wood magazine or even popular woodworking for plans and project ideas. The only time I have wanted a tilting top is to access the spindle for bit changes. If you don’t have a drop in plate raising the table can be much easier than getting down on your knees, at least I think so. Can’t really think of another reason to have one.

JM2cents worth.

Hi Bill, and welcome.

In my 32 years of woodworking, I've never had a need for a tilting router table. There's been a few times I wished for a horizontal router, but it was never a must have.

Regards,
Steve

Hi Everybody,

I am finally building a router table. I am a hobby woodworker. Woodsmith magazine has plans for a tilting top router table. My question to everybody that has and uses a router table, do wish that the top tilted? Is it worth the added effort or will it be used so infrequently that it is not beneficial?

Thanks. And thank you for allowing me to be a part of this fun group.
