[Woodworkers] Dust collection

The Oneway dust hood is excellent for collecting dust. Not much good at collecting the chips and shavings, I use a shovel for that.

You might be able to make a dust hood that uses some of the attributes of the Oneway hood.

The things I like best about the Oneway hood are:

The hood is large enough so I can turn anything that will fit on the lathe without removing the dust hood.

The tailstock side of the dust hood opens up so that the tail stock can be used.

The tailstock side of the dust hood open wider to allow for easy tool access.

I can sand the rim of a 20"+ platter and all the dust streams into the dust collector.

There is a plexiglass window on the back side of the dust hood which lets me shine light onto the workpiece.

The dust hood provides a floor behind ways of the lathe that is a great place to hold tools and project pieces.

The top of the dust hood holds several items I use all the time, like chuck keys, calipers, marking tools, tape measure...

> I'm still trying to rig up a good at-the-source dust collection setup for my lathe.
