<DIV>A door that tall should probably be built as a stile, rail, and panel
system with at least three hinges. You could build them as either inset or
overlay doors depending on the style of kitchen. There are both flush
mounted and 3/8" offset face mounted hinges in a variety of cost points. You
could use the flush mounted for an inset door and the offset for an overlay
door.</DIV>

assistant is trying to help her BF fix up his kitchen in an older house.
There is a cupboard with an opening that is 24 & 1/8” by 54 & 3/4”
that she wants to put doors on. Apparently it had ¾” plywood doors that
were not even close to being flat and closing properly.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

asked me what my thoughts about a variety of things and all I keep seeing is
that 54” is one tall cabinet door and I can’t get past

use a decorative butt style hinge to hang them. She found a company that
makes MDF doors today but they are only 5/8” thick and she can’t find a hinge
that works for that. I played with some MDF several years ago and was
not overly impressed. I’m thinking that the doors will be too heavy for
those little hinges and the screws are not going to
hold.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>
