[Woodworkers] ADMIN - Mailing List Potential Shutdown

Good morning all,
Quite honestly, I did not know the list was still going. Many of the woodworkers that I knew of went over to the Discord server and have discussions there. Like many here, I have fond memories of Joe and crew. I could provide an invite to the Discord group, and would support whatever the group decides to do.

What if we were to take the email addresses of the people subscribed and put them all together and put out an email?

Then everyone on the list would still be able to email everyone if they desired. And we wouldn't have to go to Facebook or Yahoo or whatever other list server there is.

Anybody who didn't want to be part of it could have a few weeks to unsubscribe....

-Steve

I haven't been an active participant in this mailing list, but it has provided some good information in the past. What with all the "contributors" that seem to do you tube videos, I'm not sure what the value going forward would be. It would be a shame to lose what connections there are here.

---------- Original Message ----------

All,
It is with considerable sadness that I write this message. Several
years back when Jason was no longer able to host mailing lists, Joe and
I moved the list to an account that I have with a company called
DreamHost. When Joe passed, I was happy to keep the list running on that
account, and Steve Bigelow has been kind enough to keep the lights on
for the sawdusters.org<http://sawdusters.org> domain. Unfortunately, DreamHost has notified me
that they are shutting down all of their mailing list facilities on July
21 of this year. Unless we can find an alternative means of running
this list before that date, it will unfortunately be shut down.

Although traffic has been very light on the list, I know there is a lot
of history here, and I would really hate to see people lose touch.
Please reply back if there is interest in continuing the list and I will
explore some alternative homes.

Thanks,
Frank
