[Woodworkers] Table update

2Dave,
With all of the iron straps, it looks like it won't be able to expand and contract.
Did you allow for any wood movement?

Am I missing something?

We will let it sit for about a week and then Josh will bring the legs and beam over so we can mark the mounting holes.  Then we will flip it over and go to work finishing the top.  Here are the highlights to hopefully answer most questions.    Minwax Natural stain General finishes Enduro Var Urethane* 4 coats.   Metal straps are there to basically keep the bread board ends on when somebody goes to lift it to move it or even sit on it. Strap across the center is just a bit of added security to keep the boards bound together The legs will serve the same purpose on the ends.    * This stuff is not cheap but it is easy to apply and the end finish is tuff.  They actually recommend that it can be used for tables.  First 2 or 3 coats are a bit spooky because the look is not what a guy wants.  After that each coat makes the wood “pop” even more.  We do multiple on the bottoms to makes sure that the end result is what we are after.  The center board on this one will not be as rough or dark on the top.  I think we have ended up at 6 coats on the previous 3 tables to get the best look.      2Dave       _______________________________________________
