[Woodworkers] Repaired my P-C 7529 and 8529 routers with new caps on the speed control board

My Dad always found a way to fix whatever was broken and was very frugal. I don’t value my time (apparently) and have been known to go to extended lengths to fix things that don’t merit fixing. It is a burden my wife must bear.

I will never be bored in retirement, so I got that going for me.

That's great news.

Being a child of depression era parents, my dad taught me to never throw away anything that was repairable or to hire someone to fix something until
you had at least tried to fix it myself. My kids on the other hand, as soon as something breaks in the trash it goes.

I can't begin to tell you how many things I have in my shop that I think I can use some part of it or I'll fix it at some point.. LOL

After a several hours, some not so Christmas-y language and a calming adult beverage I got both routers back in operation. I am thankful for the internet and those who have blazed the diy repair trail. Total cost about $5.

In January after USPS/UPS/et al get caught up on packages I’ll pick a new router for the table.  Still haven’t made the final choice.
