As a guy who is always looking for a reason to buy a new tool, I am impressed. You turned your dentist's advice (probably 'buy a waterpik' ) into 'Honey I need a pressure washer'. Nicely done.

You are an inspiration.

My pressure washer experience is very similar. Got the low end washer at HD and it lasted about 50 hours which for me was a few years. A couple years ago, I replaced it with a better HD washer and got the rotary disc attachment on advise of my dentist. That thing is amazing. I not only did the patio I did the porch, driveway and part of the gutter. I was nearly ready to see if my neighbors wanted their driveways done. It is one of those things I would never have bought without someone recommending it but it works great.

Thanks,
Karen

My first washer was on special from one of the big box stores. It broke down after a year. After doing some research I found that there are two different pump designs, verticle and horizontal. One is designed to last 50 hours. The other is designed to last 500 hours. My first pump broke after almost exactly 50 hours. I upgraded and have been running for several years with my second.

The higher pressure and water volume will allow you to purchase and use a rotary disc attachment. It will clean a ~12 inch diameter circular path. Mutch better for scrubbing driveways and other flat surfaces.
