My wife an I never like to showcase our problems on social media. But, as old friends, I still wanted to pass this along. It's hard.

> My wife of 54 years JoAnn's had severe COPD for years. It's gotten much worse this year, and combined with excruciating back pain, no mobility and other medical issues, she's reached the end.
>
> We had end of life discussion over the last few weeks, and days. She wants it to be over with. She's in ICU, and has been unconscious most of yesterday and today.
>
> I talked to her Pulmonologist, and he thinks this is it. He said they could stop blood testing, IVs, etc, give her sedatives, remove the BiPap, and put her on regular O2 through a cannula when I give the word.
>
> He thinks that is best for her, and that she would only last a day after that. I told him that's what we want, but not to do that until after our son got in to Houston today from Detroit. She's out, been so the last two days, but could probably acknowledge him. She knew My sister and her husband when they came last night. Our daughter and oldest granddaughter came by an saw her yesterday. Her brother will be by this afternoon.
>
> The Dr said they would continue treatment until I said stop. I'll likely do that today after all our children have had a chance to say goodby.

> Don't need anything except prayers for us and the family, just wanted you to know.

John
