New Departure was the bearing supplier for Delta for many, many years.

Not necessarily.

Whoever told you that is a dink.

No, b'cuz I'm not a dink.

I know that if you could get kerosene in there and swish it around the
little balls that make up the bearing then any grease in there is now
dissolved. Getting the grease back into the bearing races will be quite
the trick.

Yep, contact http://accuratebearing.com/

When you talk to the girl she's gonna need input from you - you'll need the
OD, the ID, thickness and if the bearing is a raised race. It would help
if you mic'd those dims before calling to talk with her. Believe me when I
tell you this, if you falter at any point she will tell you to go home,
pack your lunch, determine those dims and only then can you call her back.

However, you might get lucky if you give her the ND bearing number - that
usually works.

Don't get me wrong, they are not snotty...she just wants to make sure you
are getting the right bearing(s) to eliminate you sending them back and
having to talk to them on the phone again.

She is VERY knowledgeable so keep that in mind.
