Hey Tom -

Are you looking to install Ubuntu on the mac? Or just create a bootable 
installation media (USB stick, DVD)? Brandon is right, either way you 
need the ISO image.

If you want to install Ubuntu on Mac there are some hoops you need to 
jump through. The "Linux Newbie Guide" has a pretty good how-to on 
installing linux on a mac.

If you are looking to just use a dmg file to create a bootable USB stick 
there are instructions for doing so on that page (about 1/4 of the way 
down under "Downloading and converting your Linux distro image of choice").
