[Woodworkers] Tips on using sign stencils

Gentlemen

I have recently seen advertisements for router stencils that use blue tape
to hold them in place.  When I use my stencil set I have to lock it down to
keep from moving the stencils as I route through them.  Does anyone have
any tips or is this bad advertising?
