It is amazing how much wood still moves, once it changes environments. It  
moves even within its own environment.  I hope they don't split. Like you  
said, only time and seasons will tell.
 
I did a similar panel within frame for a coffee table for one of my  
daughters and so far it hasn't split, but I did leave a little gap for  expansion.
 
 
Again beautiful work.
