The most straight forward method of capping a tin roof is to buy
prefabricated roof caps from the big box store. Cut the twelve foot
sections of tin roofing so that it ends just short of the peak. Nail or
screw it down so that all perforations are on the tops of the ridges.
Install the cap to cover the raw ends and seal off the job. I am assuming
that you have 1x4 horizontal cross stripping already installed for nailing
surface at regular intervals.
A second method is to purchase a flat roll of tin sheeting material and to
bend it to form your own cap material in 4 ft lengths. Any sheet metal
shop with a break could fabricate them for you quickly.
